There is no denying that you wear many hats. You are leaders, coaches, mentors, administrators, referees, liaisons, and much more. But ultimately, the effectiveness of this digital initiative comes down to two questions:
  • How can you help increase achievement for all students in your school?
  • How can you effectively evaluate and support your staff's professional growth?

Learning Outcomes
During this session we will...
  • Articulate our beliefs about learning and teaching;
  • Reflect on what aspects of learning and teaching will be altered by technology;
  • Explore the Technology Integration Spectrum and what this means for our evaluation process; and
  • Discuss strategies for unifying our staff in a culture of digital learning and teaching.


I. Ten Words | 15 minutes

If we are going to spur change, the narrative we create is important.
The prompts used in this activity are meant to be a series of ten-word answers that would / could serve to help you drill down to a simple statement of purpose for using technology during learning & teaching. This conversation could serve as the building blocks for larger & deeper conversations later.


Our comments will be recorded in using Today's Meet and will be available for one year to review.


II. What Does Technology Integration Look Like? | 10 minutes

Integration generally begins at the lower levels of enhancement and progresses upward. Just as in Blooms Taxonomy, there is nothing inherently wrong with teaching at the basic levels, nor is it necessarily better to working at the upper levels. It all depends on what the teacher’s intent is. The key, just as with Bloom’s Taxonomy, is to connect the tools and process used with the targeted level.

III. Evaluation Practices | 25 minutes

Overall we want to see professional growth of staff towards transformational learning experiences and our students developing their 21st century learning skills as mentioned in the ISTE Standards (formally known as NETS Standards).

IV. What About those "Tough Conversations"? | 15 minutes

There is significant evidence that effective feedback is a critical element of any process.It is essential that school
administrators apply, with fidelity, meaningful feedback to support professional learning and growth.



V. Reflection | 10 minutes

Any use of technology should improve the process or outcome. We must ask ourselves whether using technology is contributing to improved teaching and learning, be it a pencil, textbook, laptop, or tablet.
